| The eight-storey Cumberland hotel was built in 1933 and retains its traditional Jazz- age stone frontage and some marble panelling in its corridors. The busy lobby has a 24-hour front desk to advise guests on London attractions.
At the Cumberland hotel, guests can relax with a glass of wine in the bar and lounge area, or enjoy international dishes all day in one of the hotel's two restaurants.
The hotel offers 26 fully equipped meeting rooms for hire. The lobby has complimentary newspapers.

From London Heathrow Airport (LHR):
Distance to Cumberland - a Guoman Hotel is 27 miles, approximately 45 minutes' drive.
Getting there. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way into London. It departs from the airport every 15 minutes, and takes 15 minutes to reach Paddington Station in central London. The journey is non- stop and costs 14.50 GBP. Additionally, the airport is on the Piccadilly line of the Underground. The journey to central London takes approximately one hour, and trains depart every 10 minutes. A one-day travel pass costs 6.30 GBP, including travel to Heathrow (in zone 6). Black taxis cost approximately 50 GBP to central London. Coaches operate to London Victoria, and the airport is also served by local buses. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is on Marble Arch in central London. The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers cheaper fares for all ticket types. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel. Black taxis are available on the streets, but can be expensive. Driving is not recommended for visitors and a congestion charge zone is operated in central London.
Driving directions. From London Heathrow Airport:
Drive north on the Inner Ring West.
Keep left and follow signs for M4/Central London as road name changes to Tunnel Road.
At roundabout, take the third exit onto ramp and merge onto the M4.
After 12 miles, road name changes to A4/Great West Road.
After 5 miles, turn right onto A4 (West Cromwell Road).
Take ramp on left to Hyde Park Corner and bear left onto the A4202 (Park Lane).
Merge onto A40 (Cumberland Gate). |
