These days you may have a tough time hearing the nightingales sing above the drone of unremitting traffic. Laid out in 1730, only the West side boasts any surviving Georgian houses. Incidentally, Number 50 is said to be haunted by an apparition that reportedly scared at least three individuals to death, so tread carefully |
